Found Foto # 5: The Alley

Posted by Hello

The alley behind our house, circa 196-something. The picture is blurry, but I believe the happy children to be Code Dependent and Big Brother Bamm-Bamm.

WHY I LIKE IT: The alley was a happy, adventursome, children's paradise. Everyone should have one.

Found Foto #4: Ogliest Leetle Keed

I believe this to be Big Ruth, Big Ray's older sister, who smoked like a chimney, drank like a fish, and farted in public. Though obviously self-medicating for a world of pain, she was quite possibly the funniest person ever.
WHY I LIKE IT: It's just the sort of embarrassing relic I myself would leave laying around for someone to find a hundred years from now. Posted by Hello

Found Foto # 3: Bali Hai !

Publicity picture for a community theater production of "South Pacific", found on the internet. My money says the models are, from left to right, a bank teller and the owner of the town bike shop.

WHY I LIKE IT: Community Theater, what's not to love? Posted by Hello

Found Foto # 2: High School Grandma

Well, I've been set straight on my recollections of Aunt Sue. Apparently she made Angel Food cake and Grandma made the liebkuchen. Still, I'm sure icing the liebkuchen WAS Aunt Sue's job, as was sweeping the driveway and scrubbing the kitchen floor on her hands and knees. So what do I know, I just ate the stuff.

Why I like this picture: Because she's wearing something around her neck, and I can't tell what it is, and it intrigues me. Posted by Hello

Found Foto # 1: Aunt Sue

Aunt Sue was my grandmother's sister, so technically my great Aunt. She saved me from choking on an ice cube when I was three by snatching me up by the ankles and shaking me until it was dislodged.

She was kind and good, and always wore a giant gold cross around her neck which weighed more than she did, and when she took a notion she would make us a batch of liebkuchen. I believe this photo to be her high school graduation picture.

Why I like this picture: Because it makes her look like a Gustav Klimt painting.
